Everything is good, but things might be a little later than we thought yesterday. Wakaba was hooked up to a baby monitor at the hospital tonight. The kid's signs are all good, the nurses say. Good strong heart-rate, everything looks healthy. Akachan wa genki desu. The microphone that Wakaba is singing karaoke into is actually a button she had to push everytime the baby moved. She pushed the button a lot. The doctor also says that Wakaba is a little further along than yesterday, and she's started having irregular contractions.
They decided not to induce tonight. The hospital was over-flowing with moms-to-be, and six other women had already been induced. There might not have been a bed for Wakaba if she went into labour too quickly. So they sent us home after checking everything out. Since the baby and Wakaba seem healthy and strong, they want us to call tomorrow and check back in. If things keep progressing naturally, the doctors will probably not do anything to induce. So it might not be July 27 after all. Maybe 28.
